Easter!

There is not a holiday that Alan enjoys celebrating with Grandma Debbie more than Easter.  After sleeping over last night, Alan woke up Grandma Debbie early this morning at 6:50AM because he was so excited to color eggs.  This year he made each one represent a different emotion.  He picked the green one to be the happy emoji, since green is his favorite color.  As he was designing the eggs, he used his imagination to create and share stories about each egg with Grandma Debbie.

When I picked up Alan today, we did three Easter egg hunts with Grandma Debbie.  Each one of us took turns as the egg hider.  Alan also did an Easter egg hunt with Tyler and Carleigh last night when they stopped by to play.  Tyler lost his top right front tooth while playing, after Alan lost one of his bottom front teeth (2nd on the left) on Tuesday of this week while driving home from piano.

After we went home, Alan had an Easter basket waiting for him from the Easter Bunny!  It contained cars (for the new Hot Wheels mat), a Spiderman fidget spinner, an Ohio State ball, M&Ms, and eggs with coins in them.  Alan told me that Easter is his second favorite holiday — just ahead of Halloween and behind Christmas.

Fidget Spinners

Alan now has a fidget spinner for each of his favorite teams.  After picking up a Cavs spinner at Giant Eagle a couple weeks ago and an Indians spinner at the Tribe game last week, we got OSU and the Browns at Kohl’s this week.

Alan takes his fidget spinners to school and has “fidget battles” with his friends before the morning bell rings.  During these battles, each participant spins their spinner and then bangs them into their opponents’ spinner.  The person whose spinner stays spinning the longest is declared the winner!

In other news, Alan lost his right front tooth today!  The new left one has not grown in all the way yet, so Alan says his mouth feels funny without any front teeth.

Cars 3 Speedway

The summer of Cars 3 has turned into the fall of Cars 3 as well.  Alan got an awesome new battery-powered Cars 3 Speedway this weekend!  He loves how it shoots cars around the criss-cross track that causes crashes. 🙂

We picked up the new toy at Target today after leaving Grandma Debbie’s.  We assembled it afterwards at Tata’s.  Alan contributed his tooth fairy money to the purchase.  He had just lost a tooth (the one next to his left front tooth) early in the morning on Saturday while still in bed.  The tooth fairy then found him at Grandma Debbie’s on Saturday night!

Lost Tooth, Centers

Alan lost his first tooth during morning bell work at school today!  I was with him when it happened, as I was a classroom volunteer today for centers (I led Thanksgiving-themed bingo).  When the tooth fell out, Alan noticed something white on the table and looked at it and said “What’s this?”  Somehow I knew it was going to be his tooth before I looked over.  Mrs. Feldman gave us a tooth-shaped carrying case (pictured below) for safe keeping. 🙂

It seems like a long shot that Alan would lose his first tooth on the day I was at school with him.  However, my first tooth also fell out when my Mom was with me on the first day of kindergarten.  What are the odds…

11/17/16 Update: This morning when Alan woke up, he found that the tooth fairy came and left him $1 in an envelope. He was excited. 🙂
